8:30am: Meet at the PWRF base camp), approximate 21miles NW of Jordan, Montana.(follow signs to Lervick Homestead) Brief orientation of instruction and days activities. Travel 2 miles to dig site by PWRF staff.
9:00am: Days activities: Prospecting for new specimens, excavating, plaster jacketing, fossil removal, quarry mapping, preparation techniques in our field lab, fossil identification, and history of Garfield County.
12:00pm: Lunch and refreshments are provided. Water available throughout the day.
1:00pm: Resume Days activities:
4:00pm: Return to Base Camp. Welcome to work in field lab or return to Jordan.
- During inclement weather we will work in the field lab.
Fossil collection is a serious scientific endeavor. Care must be taken in excavation.
